About this policy
This policy describes the data handling supported by the current Android application and its supplied Store listing.
Folder access and file data
Smart Mediet File Manager accesses folders you choose through Android’s folder picker. It retains the access permission so you can use connected folders again. Available information and operations depend on the selected storage provider and its permissions.
The app reads file and folder names, document identifiers and locations, file types, sizes, modification dates, and supported-operation information. It uses this information to browse, search, filter, sort, show file details, and analyze storage in connected folders.
Duplicate detection reads file contents and computes SHA-256 hashes within the app to compare files. Copying and moving also read file contents and write them to the destination you select. Renaming and deletion change files through the selected storage provider. Deletion requires confirmation; duplicate files are not automatically deleted.
Collection and purposes
The inspected implementation does not upload files, file metadata, or usage information to a developer-operated server. It does not implement an account system, analytics reporting, or remote crash reporting. File processing takes place within the app using Android’s storage interfaces. A storage provider you select may itself access remote storage.
The app saves the following information in private Android app preferences:
• Connected-folder identifiers.
• Favorite file and folder records.
• Records for up to 50 recently opened files.
• View and sorting preferences.
Favorite and recent records include names, document identifiers, sizes, modification dates, types, and locations. These records support shortcuts and browsing history. They do not contain copies of file contents. Search and filter inputs, scan indexes, and duplicate-comparison results are held in the current app session rather than deliberately saved as persistent records.
Sharing and third parties
When you choose Open, the app grants a compatible viewer app read access to the selected file. When you choose Share, it provides the selected file to the app you choose through Android’s sharing interface. Those apps handle the information under their own policies.
Connected storage providers handle file queries and operations. If you choose a cloud-backed provider, accessing, copying, moving, or deleting files may involve that provider’s servers and policies. The app does not add its own file-upload service.
The inspected dependencies do not include advertising, analytics, or remote crash-reporting SDKs, and no advertising display or advertising-identifier access was found in the implementation. The Android manifest nevertheless declares advertising ID permission. That declaration alone does not establish that an identifier is collected or shared.
The app includes Internet permission and a conditional WebView for terms and privacy content, with JavaScript enabled. The current startup state opens the file manager directly. If the WebView is used to load reachable web content, the destination may receive ordinary connection information, such as an IP address and browser request details. The inspected source does not establish that destination’s data practices.
Android backup
The app enables Android backup. Depending on your device, Android version, account, and backup settings, app preferences may be included in operating-system backup and restoration. Backup handling and retention are controlled by the applicable platform or backup provider.
Security
The app uses Android’s user-selected folder permissions and private app preferences. Opening or sharing files grants read access to the receiving app. File-operation failures are written to Android’s diagnostic log; exception details may include file or provider information. No code was found that sends these logs to the developer.
The inspected implementation does not establish app-specific encryption for stored preferences or a general encryption-in-transit guarantee. Network protection for cloud storage, external apps, backup, or web content depends on those services. No method of storage or transmission guarantees complete security.
Retention and your controls
Connected-folder records and saved preferences remain until changed or cleared. You can disconnect folders in Settings to release the app’s retained access permission. Disconnecting does not delete the files and does not automatically remove their favorite or recent records.
You can remove individual favorite and recent records in Saved, and clear recent history in Settings. Removing a saved record does not delete its file. Recent history is limited to 50 entries. Scan and comparison results remain in session memory until cleared by app activity or the session ends.
You can use Android’s app settings to clear locally stored app data. Uninstalling generally removes local app data, but does not delete the original files in connected storage. Copies held by storage providers, receiving apps, or Android backup are subject to those services’ controls and retention practices. No fixed retention period for those services is established by the inspected app.
Deletion requests
The app has no developer-hosted account or file repository and no in-app deletion-request service. Use the controls described above to remove local records or revoke folder access. To delete actual files, use the app’s confirmed deletion operation or the storage provider’s controls. Provider-specific recovery or retention may still apply.
For privacy or deletion inquiries, the designated contact is contact@kiwipowersp.com. The supplied information does not establish a request-processing timeframe or a process for deleting information held by independent providers.
Children’s privacy
No intended age groups or child-specific data practices were established by the supplied information. The inspected app does not implement registration, age collection, advertising delivery, or analytics collection. Files selected by a user may contain personal information, including information about children, and are handled through the file operations described in this policy.
Changes to this policy
This policy should be updated when the app’s functionality, permissions, providers, or data handling changes. The inspected application does not establish a dedicated policy-change notification mechanism.
